Regarding Israel, Christian Zionism, and the Epstein affair, see, for instance, The Vampire’s Ball (Epstein and How the World Works), Former CIA Agent Weighs In on Israel, War With Iran, Epstein, and JFK Files, More on the War With Iran (“Operation Epstein Fury”), and The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: What Would Jesus Do?
The U.S.-based globalist empire is destroying itself in a spasm of hubristic arrogance. Good riddance. A managed decline of relative American power in recognition of the new reality of a multipolar world would have been much better. Now we must face the consequences of self-indulgence and a lack of prudence or sense of limits, both in our personal lives and on the larger scale of a country. Some of us hoped that President Donald Trump’s apparent willingness to deal with the new reality signaled working out a modus vivendi with the other great powers. That has proved to be an illusion.
Which raises the question of what happened for Trumpism to rapidly switch gears and move in the opposite direction from what Trump himself had promised regarding so many issues, while retaining the loyalty of a core base of support.
Before answering that, it’s worth observing that Trump’s recent words and deeds — plunging us into war with Iran, calling forthe destruction of a “whole civilization,” and blasphemously portraying himself as Jesus Christ — are evidence that Vice President J.D. Vance and Trump’s cabinet must invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office.
A few observations:
Trump’s second administration had no idea what it would do after the first 100 days. The deep contradictions in MAGA became glaringly obvious: America and her internal crisis could never be the priority for an ideology that was based so much on the shared assumptions of neoliberals and neoconservatives. Particularly, that America is an idea, a cause, and an abstraction, but not a real place with a core ethnic base with concrete interests. Too many Americans simply want to know which team they are on, pretending that the ostensible chasm between Left and Right is greater than it actually is, and pretending to uphold “traditional values” while living dissolute personal lives.
Worse, Christianity became just another ideology to justify aggression. Americans refuse to acknowledge that other countries have legitimate interests. Constant warfare and the barrage of propaganda did what it always does. We reduced our supposed enemies to subhuman status. Our president — or should I simply call him our True Savior? — in contradiction to every tenet of decency, prudence, and Christian teaching, calls them“animals” whose civilization must be obliterated. American nationalism is a strange bird. Flag-waving superpatriots behave as if there is no real nation, no American ethnos, not even a shared language any longer, to defend. The Right absorbed and internalized the Left’s concept of the Universal Nation, a messianic vision more akin to Trotsky’s Permanent Revolution than to the America that George Washington described in his realistic and humble Farewell Address. Now, apparently, Trotsky is our guide; Washington is merely the face on the dollar bill. The globalist revolutionaries of whatever ostensible political persuasion have manipulated the residual loyalties of the Middle Americans who have given their lives for elites who despise them, just as the Communists once dusted off old patriotic loyalties to save themselves at critical junctures.

Modernity levels all before it and modern financial capitalism is even more destructive of traditional social arrangements than its Communist and Fascist counterparts. Capitalism must reduce all barriers to atomize society into a lonely crowd of self-absorbed consumers. “Creative destruction” was always the seed of the American Right’s own self destruction in the post-WWII era. Whatever emerges after the collapse of our unstable, insolvent, defeated system — and make no mistake, the Iran War represents the strategic defeat of that system — our heterogeneous society is likely to be increasingly chaotic. Assuming the country does not break up, the new reality likely will be techno-authoritarian rule in a high-tech surveillance state. Note that Trump is pushing for the extension of warrantless surveillance of Americans. It won’t matter what it calls itself, Right or Left. Those terms are devoid of meaning where the rubber hits the road of actual American interests. “National Security” will be the excuse for the police state, which is largely already extant. We have forgotten what is required to preserve and vitalize a nation: jobs, economic stability, traditional morality, fiscal prudence, the ability of young people to marry and form families, and the humility required to acknowledge that it is far beyond us to solve the world’s problems, especially when we are in a deep social, economic, and financial crisis. Americans are notoriously ignorant about the rest of the world. Yet they somehow think we can run the entire globe.
“Idiocracy” describes the cartoonish, surreal quality of a dissolute, happily ignorant society that is lazy, complacent, self-absorbed, self-indulgent and sanctimonious. The Ugly American as known by so many foreigners at first hand is greedy, arrogant, and lacking any ability to see past the end of his own nose. At home, we have WrestleMania America and its Leftist “woke” counterpart: on one hand, the tattooed, profane, super patriots who overcompensate for a demasculinized culture with their camo, faux-biker persona, and militaristic fetishes; on the other, the pierced, tattooed, purple-haired, and often-obese masculinized women who celebrate ugliness and sexual perversion in every form. Both are childish and nihilistic. Both prefer Disneyland fantasy or Internet rabbit holes to real places, organic culture, and what goes with them — the good, the true, and the beautiful. Social media have overstimulated their senses and bred heretofore unknown widescale, pathological narcissism. No one wants to be troubled by facts, realism, or humility. Their character is that of a thug or a passive-aggressive radical.

Despite all the helicopter-mom handwringing about schoolyard toughs, bullying is what we do. “American Greatness” for one side means sheer brute power, the imposition of one’s will on another in the name of “patriotism,” the vicarious thrill of crushing the opposing “team” while waving the flag. The other side of the political aisle isn’t short on its need to indulge the Will to Power, either. But in a strange form where “greatness” means self-hatred, self-immolation and the destruction of reality forced by revolutionary fervor and an act of superhuman will. Elites are quite happy with that situation, using it as a means of imposing “order” on the chaos they have made in the world the managerial class and financial oligarchy believe they can control.
The masses were bought off by false prosperity based on massive debt. They have a sense of entitlement they decry in others. Yet the consumer society is coming to an end with the empire. Whoever controls the wreckage will have us unemployed, on Universal Basic Income, a free Internet connection, and all the sedatives we need to remain complacent. We will be poked, prodded, “vaccinated,” tracked, and categorized.
Idiocracy America gets the leadership that reflects its character. We get the Democrats’ freak show or a Buffoonish reality TV administration. Trump has proved to be the culmination of that trend, a man so narcissistic, so arrogant, so profane, so garish, that he reflects the blend of sicknesses that characterize our political life. It’s not surprising that he enjoys his own Cult of Personality among diehard followers, even as he destroys the coalition that brought him to office. His “spiritual advisors” — notably the crackpot Paula White Cain, who thinks she speaks in tongues — reflect the trivialization of Christianity that a commercial, radically individualistic culture fosters. A pack of conmen have convinced a very receptive Trump that he is Messiah who will save the world even if it means courting an Apocalypse. Trump’s impulsiveness, his tendency to quickly grow bored with serious issues, and his personal vindictiveness only intensify the craziness of our situation. Trump is cagey. But he is also an ignorant imbecile.

But that’s only part of his problem. The other is his being beholden to Israel and the Zionist Lobby that backed him. His behavior became far more erratic, even panicky, after his failed attempts to hide the Epstein files. Blackmail is part of the picture. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might not always get everything he wants right away, but give him time, and he is able to pressure and manipulate Trump into action on Israel’s behalf. We are in a war that has nothing to do with American national interests, risking a global depression, high inflation and unemployment, and the collapse of the dollar. Yet Trump says higher gas prices don’t concern him. Military action is his priority. He can’t be worried about Medicaid and Medicare as “we” have wars to fight. He calls his own voters “losers” when they demand transparency on Epstein. Trump agreed with his Zionist guru Mark Levin that he is the first Jewish president. It’s quite clear that the Zionists went all out while they had a toady in the White House. Netanyahu is aiming to create a Greater Israel and get the U.S. to destroy Iran as he used us to wreck Iraq, Libya, Syria, and now Iran, even as he exploits the current war as cover to expand Israeli control in Southern Lebanon.
Zionists exert enormous control over our politics, our economic and financial system, academia, news media, and entertainment. But the old Holocaust Industry narrative is wearing thin. Do our super patriots have any real national pride left in them, apart from gloating over blowing up foreigners in distant lands? It’s astonishing to see them kowtow to the Zionists, while they preen about American “greatness.” Many of them are self-identified Christians who don’t seem to mind Trump’s blasphemies or killing innocents in the name of the Prince of Peace. They are a minority, but a significant one. And sadly, many of them are my own friends, relations, and neighbors. It’s like watching Pod People replace them, transforming a likeness of the folks I once knew into Zombies. On the flip side, I’ve been surprised and bewildered by so many of my liberal friends moving rapidly from, say, Adali Stevenson or JFK territory directly into Jacques Derrida’s deconstructionist insane asylum. But modernity does breed mass hysteria and madness.
It’s not enough to be critical of Trump or this insane Zionist war. Sane people need to oppose the madness around them in whatever form it takes. People who call themselves Christians should be called out by those of us with any marbles left on their fanaticism and the very unChristian joy they take in war. They have become thePharisees; the Leftists have been a violent collective Nurse Ratched. The Anti-Christ sneers and licks his chops. Trump and his hard-core followers have truly used God’s name in vain.

Meanwhile, the US Treasury debt auctions are falling short, the mechanism, along with the increasingly defunct petro dollar, Washington has used to prop up its empire. The gap between the very rich and the rest is growing. Trump’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is failing. I write this in suffering love of the country I once knew, now long gone, and for the people I care for still. It’s time for whatever responsible officials remain in the Washington morass to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Donald Trump from office. At least we may be able to stop this senseless war and prevent a potential nuclear disaster.
