Close The Border

The demographic transformation of America into a polyglot flophouse continues unabated.  In a leaked audio obtained by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told Border Patrol agents in Texas that the border crisis is “unsustainable” and “we’re going to lose” if “borders are the first line of defense.”

“We can’t continue like this, our people in the field can’t continue, and our system isn’t built for it,” Mayorkas allegedly said in the audio Thursday, the same day he told reporters that the numbers of illegal aliens encountered are “unprecedented.”

For the 15th consecutive month, the number of illegal alien encounters increased along the Southern Border — 12 percent in July and surging to 212,672, the highest monthly total since March 2000.

“Migrant encounters” take two distinct forms: apprehensions, by which migrants are taken into custody in the United States to await adjudication, and expulsions, by which migrants are immediately expelled to their home country or last country of transit.

Of the nearly 213,000 encounters in July, 199,777 migrants were apprehended by the Border Patrol.  Of that number, 93,781 were expelled under Trump-era CDC orders issued in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This means that the majority of illegal aliens arrested in July were released into the United States and will almost certainly never be forced to leave.  Expulsions have become less frequent – and apprehensions more common.

These numbers fail to account for the number of illegal immigrants that evade capture.  Economists and engineers at Yale and MIT estimate that only 68 percent of border jumping illegals are caught.  But with the surge in border crossings, the number of “got aways” must have increased.  Border officials estimate that 1,000 illegal aliens per day are now evading capture.

The “globalization” and “diversity” of the surge in illegal aliens is also alarming.  The share of arrests of illegals not from Mexico or the Northern Triangle countries of Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador) has doubled since Joe Biden assumed office and now stands at 28%.  Refugees from Africa, Haiti, Asia, and the Middle East are all on the rise. For example, more than 17,000 aliens arrested by the Border Patrol in just the month of July were from Ecuador!

Bad as that is, a federal judge offered a glimmer of hope on Friday. U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk of the Northern District of Texas ruled that the Biden administration must resume the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols program that keeps migrants in Mexico as they await an asylum hearing.  DHS Secretary Mayorkas formally ended “Remain in Mexico,” on June 1, though in practice Biden stopped it on Jan. 20.

Reinstating MPP is a good first step. Once aliens are released, most will never apply for asylum, because they have no legitimate legal grounds to do so and have used false claims of fear as a mere ploy to secure release. Of those who do apply, the overwhelming majority are rejected but won’t be deported in any case.

Trump appointee Kacsmaryk noted these loopholes in immigration law.  The DHS decision to end MPP, he wrote, did not “address the problems created by false claims of asylum or how MPP addressed those problems. Likewise, it does not address the fact that DHS previously found that ‘approximately 9 out of 10 asylum claims from Northern Triangle countries are ultimately found non-meritorious by federal immigration judges,’ and that MPP discouraged such aliens from traveling and attempting to cross the border in the first place.”

But even if Biden were disposed to honor Kacsmaryk’s order, what do we do next about the millions already here? And what of those who keep coming? Answer: The border must be closed; an immigration moratorium imposed.. To everyone. And every single illegal alien must be rounded up and deported, children included.

As Wayne Allensworth has written, the border collapse is the existential political question facing the American body politic.  Like ancient Rome and the “mythical” France of Raspail’s Camp of the Saints  we are watching in real time the death of our nation and its people, subsumed in a demographic flood. Like so many great civilizations, ours has committed suicide. A wicked elite has systematically demoralized and morally disarmed us.

The American regime is illegitimate. As lackeys in the National Security Apparatus imprison senior citizens who did nothing more than hold a placard outside the Capitol on January 6, our elite encourages the largest incursion by foreign people in history. The Ruling Class masks this surrender in the language of humanitarianism and, often, faux Christianity. But self-annihilation and suicide are no more morally virtuous for nations than individuals. And it is only European peoples, and especially the English-speaking nations, full of self-loathing and the alienist impulse, to elevate “the other” who agonize over their civilization, whether it is worth defending, and what it means to be truly Western.

  • It was just now that I found you via a link on an article in UNZ by Allensworth that really opened my eyes for the first time (though I long suspected) about the pending demise of white peoples (by plan)! I just wanted to say how much I appreciate these “warnings” along with any suggestions about what can be done about it. The general public has been lured and enticed to be as ignorant and unresponsive as they are, it fits the “Master Plan” … I spent the first 50 some ears of my life “spinning my wheels” because though I cared and wanted better I could see no way to get my head around it all let alone think that I could make a difference. … but a bit over 25 years ago (I am 81 now) I had a “Spiritual Awakening” (nothing to do with “Religion”) that gave me a lot of “insight” to all of this and so much more … I was “given” a Spiritual Mission to “Tell Others” … thus non-stop study ever since and participation on the Internet Social Media venues … I am here now to commend you and writers like yourself that are knowledgable enough and committed enough to “put the word out” in the hope that it will make a difference. Everything counts, no matter how small, in making a difference that would have never happened otherwise. So I will keep doing my small part and I feel assured that people like yourself are doing yours, it is the least that we do that is the beginning of something more. THANKS!
